Quality Freight Services Ltd (QFS) first came to Carbon Neutral Group for help in August 2023. Quality Freight Services Ltd are specialists in worldwide freight forwarding and management services. With this type of business, there is always the impression that it is going to be a long haul with any Carbon Neutral project. Since the partnership started, we have been providing a range of services to Quality Freight Services. These services combined with their enthusiasm for change has meant that between us we have made a huge carbon reduction to their business.
As environmental expectations rise across the logistics sector, QFS recognised the importance of embedding sustainability into their operations, both to meet client requirements and lead by example in a traditionally emissions-heavy industry.
The Challenge: Managing Business Travel Emissions Post-Pandemic
The team at QFS wanted to start their journey to being a carbon neutral business however they didn’t know where to start and what was involved. The drive had come from the business wanting to make a change plus they had started to see more and more clients asking for Carbon Reduction Plans, Carbon Calculations & Carbon Reports as well Sustainability Plans. These clients had a large spend with the business and they were important to keep. This not only meant that they were meeting their client demands but also a clear leader in their industry for their green initiative.
With the team of over 160 people working in 18 offices, we needed to gather as much information as possible on the office emissions, home working, commuting as well as other information to help build the report.

The solution; A Clear Plan, Simple Communication, and Realistic Goals
To start any project that involves multiple offices and stakeholders, we talked them through the process from data collection to carbon reporting and we talked through any industry regulations.

The Results – A Corporate Forest Takes Root
The key result for the QFS is that the team now knows their carbon footprint, they are in compliance with SECR regulations and meet their clients sustainability requirements. The detailed carbon report that we gave to the team means that this can be used for any and all future work and was used to help build out their carbon reduction plan.
The team wanted to offset their emissions and start their own corporate forest. We worked with them to choose a project for them to sponsor via the United Nations to offset their emissions and enrolled them into the 50p a tree corporate forest scheme. Their forest is available to see, happily growing on their website.
